Welcome to the web home of the La Plata County Mounted Patrol.
The LPCMP was formed by a group of dedicated volunteers in La Plata County Colorado who offer the La Plata County Office of Emergency Management an extra pool of resources to tap when needed.
With government agencies hard pressed to provide needed services these days, the Mounties of the LPCMP are available to fill any role requested by this agency as well as meeting the needs of other agencies and non-profit groups in need of assistance.
As an all volunteer citizens group, the LPCMP asks no payment for these services and relies on community donations for it's funding. All equipment used is owned by the individual Mounties unless purchased by LPCMP.
Community involvement is the hallmark of our members who have, each, a proven track record of community service and integrity.

The La Plata County Mounted Patrol, are dedicated to the following objectives:
1. To assist civil authorities as deemed necessary at any time. To also maintain such equipment, resources, training and readiness as required by the organization.
2. To answer any emergency call given by any local, state or national authority which applies to the safety and well being of our citizens.
3. Engage in activities which tend to keep alive traditions, customs and knowledge of the "Old West:.
Assistance from our members have been and will continue to be provided during emergency situations and natural disasters, such as floods, fire, search & rescue, traffic/crowd control, patrolling, prevent vandalism & looting, as well as keeping scenes free from contamination and assisting with ensuring public safety in times of emergency and need.
